Depression, anxiety and fatigue are among the most common health problems we treat at the clinic. By reading the pulse we can determine the cause of these issues and the best course of treatment (be it Chinese medicine or something else). We have good success with milder conditions. However, more severe conditions such as bipolar and schizophrenia will usually need western drug intervention. Acupuncture works in well with western treatments to improve the efficacy of those treatments.
Not being able to get a good night’s sleep tends to make everything else worse: fatigue, pain, fibromyalgia, digestion issues, anxiety – pretty well everything. Western medications can result in unpleasant side effects such as allergic reactions and unusual behaviours. In Chinese medicine the cause of insomnia is based on organ health (when you typically find it difficult to get to sleep) or the liver (when you typically wake during the night for no reason). Chinese medicine aims to resolve these underlying issues resulting in improved sleep.
Your emotional health can also impact your digestive health leading to IBS, reflux and other gastrointestinal problems.
